Abstract

337,651. Lindstr÷m, H. Dec. 10, 1929. Friction gearing.- In friction gearing, rollers 10 on stationary bolts 13 have convex peripheries engaging a conical surface 2 on a shaft 1 and a similar surface on a loose sleeve 4 provided with recesses 5 engaged by bolts 8 engaging corresponding recesses 7 in a nut 6 secured on the shaft 1 by a lock-nut 9. The g r i p automatically tightens with increase of load. The bolts are capable of slight radial movement to adjust the grip between the rollers and the outer ring 11, which may be formed as a pulley and may be cylindrical if suitable guiding-means is provided.
