Rollers or cylinders.-A roller or pulley of the kind having a spindle a screwed near both ends, end plates c provided with annular bevelled projections or flanges d on their inner faces engaging similarly-bevelled faces f on a drum c, and nuts g to hold the drum between the plates, is characterized by making the plates in a corrugated or countersunk form. The end plates are preferably made of stamped steel. According to the Provisional Specification, the plates and the spindle may be provided with flats to prevent relative rotation, the annular projections of the plates may be bevelled on their undersides, and the plates may be cast.
