Abstract
337,278. Beuthner, K. Jan. 3, 1929, [Convention date]. Coke ovens. - Distillates are withdrawn from the bottom of the charge in a coke oven or retort a into a part q, Fig. 1, of a divided fuel support, this part being open laterally so that the fuel only partly fills it, and being in proximity to a closed support n. The part q has an up swept end s which prevents the fuel entering, and leads the distillates to an outlet pipe c. Steam for the production of water gas may be introduced by pipe h. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes also a coke oven having below it a gas collecting and withdrawal channel m, Fig. 1 (Cancelled), communicating with the charge by passages l. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
