336,740. Rivers, H. O., Abercrombie, J. M., and Chase, E. Sept. 9, 1929. Locks, revolving-barrel. - A pin tumbler revolving-barrel lock comprises a housing 7, an inner barrel 6 and a bolt 5 which is free to rotate in the barrel until the lock key is fully inserted in the keyway 13 in the bolt when one set of pin tumblers 9 is raised to lock the bolt and barrel together and a second set of tumblers 10 of the same diameter are raised allowing rotation of the bolt and barrel within the housing. Before the key can be fully inserted the bolt is rotated by a knob 26 until the tumbler holes in the bolt register against the holes in the barrel. The upper set of pin tumblers 10 have collars 11 which form seats for springs 20, the other ends of which engage a cover plate 19. The end of a pin 22 fixed to the housing slides in an annular groove 21 in the barrel to prevent detachment of the parts.
