Abstract
335,010. Thorne, J. H., and Thorne, I. J. Aug. 2, 1929. Carriages; vehicles with removable bodies; omnibuses; animal-carrying vehicles.-A convertible passenger and animal or goods carrying vehicle comprises a front cab portion and a rear platform upon which is secured an omnibus or other passenger vehicle body or side and end panels for a goods or animal-carrying vehicle. The front cab portion 1 is provided with a side door 2 and a rear door 3 and the rear platform 5 is adapted to receive an open ended omnibus body 9 having a floor 10 and means such as bolts 17 for securing it to the cab portion 1. When the vehicle is to be adapted for conveying animals a front panel 26, Fig. 8, is secured to the cab portion 1 by bolts 17 and two side panels 27, 35 are hinged to the platform 5 and secured together by hoops 63. Side and end ramps 40, 51 hinged to fittings on the underside of the platform are provided having flaps for closing the gaps when the ramps are in use.
