Abstract

291,677. Alcock, A. M. Nov. 14, 1927. Omnibuses.-In double-deck vehicles of the one direction drive type such as omnibuses provided with front and rear staircases the front staircase is arranged to take advantage of the space adjacent the driver and above the engine and road wheels. As shown in Figs. 1 and 2 the front staircase G passes from the doorway A to the lower saloon through the bulkhead B over the engine and into the upper saloon. Fig. 8 shows a modified arrangement a double doorway A for both lower and upper saloons being provided and a door opening inwards into the upper saloon being hinged to the pillar M.
