Abstract

334,968. Brock, W. H. June 18, 1929. Pistons. - Surplus oil is discharged through a hole 2 in the wall of the cylinder, which is opened at intervals by a rotary valve 4 operated by gearing 115 from the crank-shaft 14. A pump 10, operated by gearing 18, sucks oil from the interior of the valve 4 through a valve 8 and discharges it through a valve 12 and pipe 13 to the sump. The valve 4, suitably ported, may be common to all the cylinders of a multi-cylinder engine.
