Abstract
333,787. DelanoÙ, F. A. Oct. 22, 1928, [Convention date]. Auxiliary belts.-Standing flax is directed by divider arms 10 between pulling means consisting of endless rubber coated bands 7, 8 that are inclined at about forty degrees to the ground. The bands are carried on a frame 1 angularly adjustable by a screw 5 and are driven by a motor 6, the reel 11 being actuated through gearing including universal joints from one of the belts. The bands pass over rollers 9 and are arranged to run in contact for some distance in the line of travel of the machine and then to move in contact transversely of the machine to deliver the stalks to a fabric belt conveyer 24 that can be swung up vertically for travel on road. Behind the contacting surfaces of the belts in their pulling stretch are arranged endless chains 14 carrying pivoted pads 16 on links. The links have rollers 19 bearing against guides 20, and central rollers 21 that are engaged by driving sprockets.
