Abstract
332,024. Neilson, T., and Marshall, J. June 14, 1929. Ventilators. - An air distributor for use in ventilation, of the kind rotated by reaction of the issuing air, comprises a hollow rotatably mounted casing 5 adapted to be connected to an air supply duct, a number of hollow vanes 15 which project from the outside of the casing and are in communication with its interior, and a valve comprising a rotatable ported sleeve 9 coacting with the ported inner wall 7 of the casing for varying the volume of air passing through the casing and out through the edges 16 of the vanes. The casing 5 is supported by a spider 6 on a spindle 4 mounted in ball bearings in a hub 3 secured to a bridge, piece 2 in the air inlet 1. The vanes are provided at the root with a flange 18 engaging a groove 14 on the wall of the casing, and are secured in the adjusted position by a set screw. A directional nozzle, 12, e.g. of the kind described in Specification 282,323 may be provided at the bottom of the sleeve 9. The nozzle 12 and sleeve 9 are adapted to be rotated relatively to the casing by means of a handle 21 on the nozzle, a handle projecting from the sleeve 9 externally of the casing, or a remote control device.
