Abstract

331,171. Naamlooze Vennootschap Philips' Gloeilampenfabrieken. Nov. 7, 1928, [Convention date]. Feeding wires singly from bundles to machines. -A holder 10 for a bundle of wires, for example leading-in wires for electric lamps, has a lower angularly-tapered gutter part, is oscillated about a shaft 11, and co-operates with a receiver 12 oscillatable about a shaft 16. When the receiver moves into the position shown in full lines, connection is established between a slot 13 adapted to receive a single wire and a, vacuum through a hole 15, a valve 20, and a pipe 17. After the receiver has passed the position B the valve is closed, but the receiver continues to hold the wire until it reaches a lug 22 by which it is detached. The receiver is oscillated by a rack and pinion 19, 18. The wire may be held temporarily by the receiver by magnetic means instead of by a vacuum.
