Abstract

438,598. Earth rods; couplings. BRITISH INSULATED CABLES, Ltd., Prescot, Lancashire, and SPENCE, L. R. B., Stalisfield, Archway Road, Huyton, near Liverpool. May 10, 1934, No. 14148. [Classes 36 and 38 (i)] An earth wire 4 is connected to a fluted earth rod 1, by a stiff ring 2, which may be in the form of a cap, fitting over the rod and carrying a set-screw 3 which is adapted to clamp the earth wire in one of the flutes. The ring 2 may carry a number of spaced setscrews for clamping several earth wires to the rod. According to the Provisional Specification the earth wire may pass downwardly through a hole in the top of the cap. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 423,385.
