445,936. Inductances. COSSOR, Ltd., A. C., Highbury Grove, and SOWERBY, A. L. M., 85, Westbourne Grove, Bayswater, both in London. Oct. 17, 1934, No. 29729. [Class 37] [See also Group XL] The former 1 of a coil for wireless receiving-apparatusis provided with tags 4 at its top end which engage and secure a metal screening cover 6. The lower end of the coil which projects from the open end of the cover 6 passes through a circular, cruciform, or star-shaped aperture in a metallic chassis 8 in which the coil is held. Tags on the lower end of the cover 6 engage slots in the base plate and are bent over to secure the arrangement to the base. Tags 5 at the lower end of the coil serve for making electrical connections. The cover may be secured to the top of the coil by a bolt which engages an apertured metal strip in the coil former, and may be secured to the chassis by bolts riveted to its lower end which pass through the base plate and are clamped by nuts. The tags 5 pass through the recesses of a starred aperture in the base plate whilst the former is gripped in the inwardly projecting parts of the aperture. Where the aperture is circular the coil connections pass within the coil former along a part which is provided with adhesive tape on the outside so as to grip against the face of the aperture and the lower ends of the tags 5 are at such a radius that they just pass through the aperture. The former 1 may be wound with one or more coils 2, 3.
