Manhole and handhole frames and covers.-A sluiceway cover comprises a section 1 with an opening therein, upstanding flanges 6 disposed around the opening in the section, a pate 2 having edge flanges 10 adapted to overlie the flanges 6 on the section 1, packing means 12 disposed in recesses 11 in the plate 2, and upstanding ribs 4, 9 on the upper surface of the section 1 and plate 2 to provide recesses adapted to be filled with wear-resisting material 15, such as concrete. The recesses 11 are T-shaped in cross-section and are formed in the flanges 10. The section 1 has flanges 5 whereby it is supported cn the walls of a sluiceway.
