Abstract

334,024. Henley's Telegraph Works Co., Ltd., W. T., and Moor, E. July 23, 1929. Road-surface boxes.-A pit enclosure for a network disconnecting box is built up in sections, each section having a flange at its lower end and means for connecting to adjacent sections. The enclosure shown in Figs. 1 and 2 is built up of four sections 7, 8, 9, 10; each section has an inturned flange 11, strengthened with webs 12, for mounting on the upper part 2 of the disconnecting box by means of screws. The vertical edges are thickened at 13, 14 to give a substantial face and mitred to joint at right angles with adjacent sections, and sections are held together at the corners by bolts 23 passing through suitably positioned lugs 15, 25. The frame 29 which receives the manhole cover is adjustably supported on the pit enclosure by bolts 31 which pass through holes in the lugs formed by projections 26, 27 on adjacent sections. A downwardly extending skirt 30 on the frame 29 surrounds the upper end of the built-up enclosure.
