Abstract

Driving-arrangements; spindle-driving apparatus; guards &c. for machinery, arrangement of.- The driving-mechanism of spinning and doubling frames and gassing frames of the kind having two or more parallel shafts driven from one end of the machine from a power shaft on the machine, is charcterized in that the rotating shafts are enclosed in a casing at the driving end of the machine and are provided with wheels or pulleys connected to other driving wheels or pulleys by endless flexible driving means the tension of which is regulable. The casing is on the outside of the fast and loose pulleys 11, 12, Figs. 1 and 3, by which power is supplied to the machine. In a ring frame 5, Fig. 1, the two tin rollers 6 are mounted on parallel shafts 7, 8, Fig. 2, respectively carrying grooved pulleys 14, 15, while the driving shaft 10 is provided with a grooved pulley 16, each pulley having three grooves a, b, c and a jockey pulley 18 on a stub axle 17 slidable in a slotted member 20 is provided to tension the belt or rope 22. The ends of the shafts 7, 8, 10 and the pulleys 14 - - 18 are all accommodated in the casing 13 which is provided with hinged doors. In a gassing frame the driving shaft 10, Figs. 3 and 4, is mounted between two drum driving shafts 25, 26 which are driven by means of three chains 35, 36, 37 completely enclosed in the casing 13 and respectively engaging sprocket wheels 27, 29 and 34; 28, 31 and 32; 30 and 33.
