Abstract

327,302. Hicks H. April 18, 1929. Variable-speed gearing comprises driving and driven shafts A, E connected through an epicyclic train b, c, c<2>, d carried by a wheel C. The wheel C meshes with a wheel F' on a shaft F connected through worm gearing G to a shaft carrying an eccentric H. Rotation of the eccentric H is controlled by radially arranged pistons J which reciprocate with liquid on both sides of each piston. A hand-operated valve K common to the piston throttles the flow of liquid.
