Abstract
325,345. Bott, T. L. Jan. 1, 1929. Holders.-In a telescopic gas holder with a liquid seal a pressure equalizer is provided between the dip chamber and holder. A U-shaped bearing B bolted to the bottom of the cup A carries a tubular axle C of which one end terminates in a tube D with perforations d extending into the dip chamber and the other in a longer tube E with perorations e extending into the gas holder. The tube E is at an angle to the tube D and is provided with a float F, counterweight J and stops G and H. As the inner lift L<1> of the gas holder descends the gas in the dip chamber N and N<1> tends to become compressed and travels through the tubes D, C, and E to the main chamber. After the equalizing of the pressures, the passage is sealed by liquid entering at the perforations d. On the inner lift again rising the equalizer is lifted from 'the liquid and tilts over, the liquid thus draining out.
