Abstract

325,057. Ward, S. A. Dec. 22, 1928. Pulverulent-fuel burners.-The flared outlet 12 of a pulverulent fuel burner is fitted with one or more conical tubular members 14 provided with helical ribs 15 on their outer surfaces and held in position by a helically ribbed bolt 16 which is secured by a nut 20 to a boss 18 in the burner. The helical ribs on the bolt 16 and members 14 are alternately of opposite senses so that the pulverulent fuel and air mixture issues from the burner in a number of annular currents whirling alternately in opposite directions.
