324,522. Murphy, J. Jan. 25, 1929. Variable-speed and reversing gearing comprises a disc A with two or more rings of teeth D constantly meshed by pinions F loose on a driving- shaft K. Reversed driving is effected through an idler G which meshes with a loose bevel pinion F<1> and with a ring of teeth E on the rear edge of disc A. Claw clutches M for connecting the various drives are operated through control shafts arranged one within the other. These, through bevel gearing, actuate rock shafts, one for each clutch.
