Abstract

323,914. Preston Street Combing Co., Ltd., and Adams, J. W. Jan. 4, 1929. Addition to 296,178. Density separators.-Centrifugal liquid purifiers of the type described in the parent Specification have additional leading surfaces arranged within the plate system to form continuations of those formed on the bowl lining. The jets J for the discharge of solids are arranged in the major diameter of the bowl, and a liner B is arranged to present inclined surfaces L leading solids to the jets. The cone plates P are provided with inclines L<1> to guide the solids from the plate area. The inclines L<1> may be formed on the upper side of each plate P, or may be formed on each side of alternate plates and take the place of the usual spacing pieces. In the modification shown in Fig. 5, the complete guiding surfaces are formed on the liner B and the plates P are cut away to permit the solid portions L<4> to enter the plate system.
