372,679. Centrifugal machines. AKTIEBOLAGET SEPARATOR, 8, Fleminggatan, Stockholm. Oct. 5, 1931, No. 27611. Convention date, Oct. 11, 1930. [Class 23.] A scraping screw for forcing separated solids along the wall of a centrifugal bowl 9 to the outlet nozzles 18, has one or more helical scrapers 5, 6 secured to the outer sides of rods 3 which are secured to end rings 1, 2 so that the whole forms a rigid structure. The separated liquid flows upwards through the holes 19 in the conical discs 17 arranged inside the scraping screw. In a modification the outlet nozzles are arranged at the central zone of the drum and oppositely acting helical scrapers. are provided above and below the nozzles. Strengthening pieces which may act as scrapers or scraper bearers are fixed between the helical scrapers.
