Abstract

323,847. Bosse, J. von. Nov. 1, 1928. Coating.-In a process of applying two or more different metal coatings to a metal, the first coating is freed from occluded gas and cleaned by subjecting it to an electric discharge in a vacuum as described in Specification 286,632, [Class 39 (i), Electric lamps, Arc &c.], and the second coating is then applied and may be treated in the same way. The process may be used for obtaining a hard track for a cylinder of an internal combustion engine, in which the track is nickelled and coated subsequently with chromium.
