Abstract

Wheels and axles, arrangement of. - Road wagons of the type having a multi-wheeled swivelling-fore-carriage and a fixed rear-carriage are provided with additional wheels on each carriage to facilitate turning of the vehicle. The weightcarrying wheels A of each bogie are mounted in rocking frames B carried on a central axle b, which also carries one or more turning wheels D<1>, centrally disposed as shown, or mounted on the ends of the axle b, outside the rocking frames, A jack E is fitted to each of the rocking frames by which the weight may be transferred from the weight carrying wheels to the turning wheels. The turntable for the swivelling fore-carriage comprises two rings f, f<1>, the former being fixed to the under part of the wagon platform, and having a groove into which the flange of the ring f<1> fits, this ring being in two parts, and fixed to the undercarriage.
