Abstract

323,257. West, E., and West's Gas Improvement Co., Ltd. Sept. 24, 1928. Tipping-apparatus.-Relates to apparatus of the type in which the wagon n is carried upon a platform k pivoted at m upon a frame a which on turning brings clamping means into operation. The frame a is pivotally supported at e on arms b which turn about a fixed axis c. Top clamping arms f pivoted at g upon the arms b are con. nected with the frame a by links h. When the frame a is turned in the direction of the arrow q, it rotates first about the pivots e causing the arms f to move downwards until the bar f<1> engages the wagon, and owing to the reaction of the clamping bar the further rotation of the frame a takes place about the fixed axis c. In the inverted position the weight of the various parts keeps the wagon held against the platform k. The frame may be rotated by ropes connected to the ends t, and returns by gravity. A ballast box is provided at s. During the first movement of the frame a, the weight of the wagon keeps the arms b 'stationary with stops p bearing against the framework d.
