Abstract
321,510. Hall & Son, Ltd., T., Castle, H., and Garrod, C. E. Sept. 25, 1928. Check elastic valves for use in reciprocating compressors of refrigerating machines &c. comprise plates or strips of spring steep or other resilient material loosely held at their ends in annular grooves in which they may work round to distribute wear &c. In the form shown, a resilient strip d with its ends sprung into an annular groove e in the piston a closes the inlet port c whilst the outlet port p is closed by a similar strip h with ends located in an annular recess between the cylinder end k and a ported cap m with a concave face to permit the plate to flex. The plates may be interchangeable.
