Abstract

320,371. Drew, E. S., and Musgrave, J. P. July 5, 1928. Density separators.-In a petrol &c. supply system for internal-combustion engines, the liquid enters a chamber 1 through a pipe 6 and a curved pipe 8 which imparts to it a whirling motion, so that solid impurities are separated by centrifugal action and fall into the lower portion of the chamber, while the liquid passes through a gauge strainer 10 the interior of which is subjected to periodic suction through the pipe 7.
