319,690. Rheinisch - Westfõlische Kalkwerke. Sept. 26, 1925, [Convention date]. Magnesium oxide, hydroxide, and carbonate; calcium carbonate.-In a process for the extraction of magnesia from dolomite, in which dolomite is burnt at a temperature which decomposes only the magnesium carbonate, and the magnesia is separated from the unchanged calcinm carbonate by windsifting, the half burnt and ground dolomite is treated, before separation, with water, and preferably also carbon dioxide, to convert the magnesia into hydroxide or basic carbonate.
