Abstract

297,381. I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges. Sept. 20, 1927, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Magnesium chloride and hydroxide.-Dolomite is calcined sufficiently to convert the whole of its magnesium content to oxide and then treated with calcium chloride solution and carbon dioxide to obtain a solution of magnesium chloride and a residue of calcium carbonate. From the chloride solution obtained magnesium hydroxide may be precipitated by lime or calcined dolomite with recovery of calcium chloride solution for re-use.
