Abstract

318,869. Young, W. F. April 11. 1928. Sealing-devices for closures.-Relates to flanged caps for bottles &c. of the type in which the bottle and cap are provided with interengaging lugs and a locking tongue. Slits hare. cut in the flange of the cap forming two tongues g, i extending in opposite directions. The tongues extend circumferentially along an intermediate part of the width of the flange, and are attached thereo by lines of weakness i. The end of the interrupted screw thread d forms a locking abutment for one of the tongues. The other tongue can be bent up and the strip containing the two tongues torn off to release the cap. A sealing band may be placed over the tongues.
