Abstract
325,808. Cooper, A. J. Nov. 14, 1928. Capsules and like closures for bottles &c., in which the cap is held down by a metallic encircling band having a tongue and slot connection by which the ends are fastened together. A tongue 14 engages the inside of that portion of the band 10 in which the slot 12 is formed. The band is formed with a tab 11 at either end which is torn from the container to release the cap. The longitudinal edges of the band may be provided with V-shaped nicks to facilitate spinning the band into engagement with the container. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 18248/10, 239,0'19, and 286,050.
