Abstract

Dec. 10, 1928. percussive tools. -In a tool of the kind in which an anvil block 4 carrying a chisel or the like is brought by pressure into contact with a reciprocating, axially-rotating striker 1, the block 4 when in its forward position is prevented from rotating by the action of inclined coacting surfaces 22 under the pressure of a spring 12, which acts on the block through a collar 14 and balls 15. The surfaces 22 may be replaced by a spring ring adapted to engage a flat on the block. The striker cooperates with surfaces 7 on the anvil block to effect its recoil, and the forward movement is produced by centrifugally-acting balls 8 pressing against inclines 10. A driving motor is mounted in the casing 3.
