Abstract
317,880. India Rubber, Gutta Percha, & Telegraph Works Co., Ltd., and Avery, W. L. May 24, 1928. Tyre attachments to rims.-In tyre casings comprising oblique cords looped around anchoring-members in the tyre edges, and in which tha latter are formed with circumferential grooves to receive the edges of the rim flanges or separate endless rings, the cord-engaging portions of the anchoring-members 7 are located outside the grooves. In the construction shown, the anchoring-members 7 are C-shaped having outer limbs 6 on which the cords 4, 5 are looped,. and inner limbs 8 embedded in the bead-heels 9 to co-operate with the rim flange 2, Fig. 1, or with a separate wire ring 12, Fig. 5. The members 7 may be formed in pairs having their inner (or outer) ends connected by arms 10. The tyre casing may be of the kind described in Specification 19118/13 and may be built-up as described in Specification 753/03, on a core such as that described in Specification 10942/03.
