543,236. Pneumatic tyres. TYRESOLES, Ltd. (Hawkinson, P. E.). Nov. 25, 1940, No. 16897. [Class 144 (ii)] A pneumatic tyre cover is vulcanized with the casing 21 constrained to a shape (Fig. 4) which is midway between the normally fully-expanded shape (Fig. 2) and the rolling shape under normal load (Fig. 3). In the preferred method of building-up the tyre, the breaker-strip 24 and shouldered under-tread portion 23<SP>1</SP> are vulcanized with the constricted casing, the wearing-tread 28<SP>1</SP> being subsequently applied, and vulcanized, with the casing fully expanded. The local vulcanization of the tread portion 28<SP>1</SP> may be effected by the method and apparatus described in Specification 420,829, [Group V].
