Abstract

317,568. Krause, C. June 6, 1928. Foot-arch supports.-A loose shoe or sock 5 of leather, cardboard, &c., for insertion in boots or shoes, has in an hollow in its underside an arch suport comprising a form-giving portion 1 of cardboard &c. secured by a rivet 3 to a retaining plate- 2 preferably of rigid material such as vulcanized fibre, or leather, and covered by a sheet 4 of rubber or other elastic material the edges or which overlap those of the portion 1 all around, a support being thus provided the highest point of which is substantially in the middle of the sole, the support sloping smoothly down in all directions from this point. The sheet 4 and portion 1 are secured together by an adhesive. and the plate 2 is attached to the sole 5 by a seam running completely round the plate. The sole 5 may have no front portion, a nail being provided at the heel to prevent it slipping in the shoe. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 186,685.
