Abstract

316,442. Holophane, Ltd., and English, S. Aug. 3, 1928. Daylight refractors; translucent sheets. - Prismatic glass sheets for refracting daylight into the interiors of buildings are formed with horizontal prisms of which the upper faces 1 are approximately parallel to the direction of the incident light and the lower faces comprise two or more sections 2 - - 4 the angles of which with the upper face increase the more remote they are from the apex. The sections 2 - - 4 may be plane or curved and may be merged into a continuous curve. The paths of the rays for light incident at angles of 40‹, 50‹, and 60‹ are shown by the lines 6-- 14.
