Abstract

359,692. Transparencies. HOLOPHANE, Ltd. and ENGLISH, S., Holophane House, Elverton Street, Vincent Square, London. Oct. 14, 1930, No. 30757. [Class 20 (iii).] Prismatic glass panels for use with an artificial light source in street refractors, bulkhead fittings, and the like, are provided with internal prisms having a face 2, 8, which is inactive as regards incident beams 3 perpendicular to the panel, the width of the face 1, 2 being so chosen that the path of the refracted ray 7 nearest the face 2, 8 misses the point 8. In a modification, the face 1, 2 may be slightly curved subject to the same requirement. Three examples are given for prisms of different angles.
