Abstract
389,583. Prismatic refractors. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, London, BEGGS, S. S. and WILSON, G. H., c/o General Electric Co., Wembley, Middlesex. Dec. 14, 1931, No. 34600. [Class 75 (ii).] A refractor having prismatic elements for directing light in preferred directions has a smooth outer surface 1 and an inner surface formed with cross-refracting prisms 2, which provide relatively large deviation, on one part, and prisms 3, producing relatively small deviation, on another part. In the crossrefracting prisms, light falls on two surfaces, the rays incident on one surface crossing within the prisms those incident on the other. A clear portion 4 is provided. A spherical reflector may be placed below the refractor.
