PATENT? OFFICE Ruolf A. Isenberg, Los Altos, and Richard S. Pershing, Palo Alto, Calif.

Term of patent 14 years To all whom it may concern: %Be it known that we, RUOLF A. ISENBERG and ICHARD S. PERSHING', citizens of the United States of America, residing at, respectively, Los Altos, in the county of Santa Clara, and State of California, and at Palo Alto, in the county of Santa Clara, and State of California, have jointly invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for a Lamp, or Similar Article, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof.
Fig. 1 is a front elevation of a lamp, or similar article, partly in section; and
Fig. 2 is a side elevation showing my new design.
The nature of my design, as fully represented in the accompanying drawing, comprises the figure of a wooden soldier of which a spherical or similar lamp globe forms the head and is painted to represent a face, said globe being inserted in a standard lamp socket which forms the neck of the figure, which figure is painted in various colors and trimmed with leather strips to form a Sam Brown belt, leather shoulder straps, and round-headed brass tacks to represent brass buttons of a uniform.
A miniature metal trench hat is loosely placed upon the lamp globe and forms a shade and refiector, which may be placed at various angles upon the lamp to give various rakish and other effects to the figure, as well as shading or direct ing the light rays in various directions.
