Delivering molten metal.-The plunger 6 of a glass-feeding device consists of a body of refractory material reinforced by means of an externally-threaded steel rod 7. A similar construction may be used for gates 5, 8, baffles 3, or other refractory parts of small crosssection used for controlling the flow of furnace gas or molten glass to the feeder. The rod 7 forms a suitable means for lifting or controlling the element of which it forms part.
