Abstract

Resistance furnaces.-An outer crucible 5 situated in an electric furnace with a resistance heating element 8 contains an inner crucible 2 in which metal 27 is melted to fall to excess a mould 4 with sprues 7. The furnace is suspended at 14 and when the metal has melted the furnace is allowed to fall, sliding spring contacts 11 maintaining the heating.
