Reciprocating-cylinder pumps; delivery reservoirs. - The grease container 10 of the grease gun 29 is provided with a greasefollowing piston 13 which is urged forward by fluid air presume provided by a cylinder 21 when hand pressure is applied to its end cap. The cylinder 21 telescopes over the container 10 thus trapping air to provide this pressure at the same time as the hand strokes of the gun eject the grease as described in Specification 251,432. The cylinder 21 is returned to extended position by a suitable spring. When the grease is nearly exhausted the loose stem on the piston 13 contacts with a part on the grease gun, opening the valve 17 and so equalizing the air pressure on both sides of the piston 13 so that when the gun is being opened for refilling the piston 13 will not be forced out by air pressure. A valve 34 is lifted by its stem contacting with the nipple when ejecting grease but is spring closed on the back stroke to prevent air being sucked in. The piston 13 consists of. two cup leathers 14. A cup leather 24 makes a tight joint in the cylinder 21. Cylinder 21 draws air in through inlets 27 which are covered on the forcing stroke. A valve 25 allows air pressure to form the cylinder 21 to one side of the piston 13. Specification 219,004 also is referred to.
