Abstract

243,367. Tecalemit, Ltd., (Assignees of Soc. Anon. des Etablissements TÚcalÚmit). Nov. 19, 1924, [Convention date]. Actuating by liquid pressure; single-acting suction-valveless bucket and piston pumps; two or more barrel in series.-A lubricating system comprises a chamber 4 in which a piston 5 is adapted to be moved against a spring 6 by lubricant supplied under pressure through a pipe 16. When the piston 5 clears the port 10, the lubricant enters a chamber 3 and displaces a piston 11 which is open on the outer side to atmospheric pressure. When the pressure supply is cut off, the spring 6 returns the piston 5 so that lubricant may flow from the chamber 3 into the chamber 4. On the next forward stroke of the piston 5, the lubricant in, the chamber 4 is forced through the delivery valve 15 to the noint to be lubricated. The piston 5 is controlled by stops 7, 9. One or more additional devices for supplying lubricant to other points may be supplied by the pipe 16a. In another form, the piston 5 is of differential form. so that the pressure of the lubricant in the delivery pipe 14 may be higher than that in the supply pipe 16. In the form shown in Fig. 3. the piston 5 acts as a valve only, moving forward under the pressure of the incoming lubricant to open the port 10 and admit lubricant to the chamber 3, from which it is discharged by the spring-pressed piston 11 into the pipe 14 when the piston 5 is returned to bring the reduced portion 18 into register with the port 10 and chamber 2. In the form shown in Fig. 4. the piston 5 is moved bv the lubricant into contact with the stop 9, the valve 18 then opens and admits lubricant to the chamber 3, from which it is discharged to the pipe 14 by the piston 11 when the piston 5 returns and opens the chamber 2. In the form shown in Fig. 5, when the piston 5 is moved against the stop 9, the lubricant passes through the channels 21, or into an annular chamber 3, from which it is discharged to the chamber 2 by the annular face of the piston when the latter is returned by the spring 6. In this case the delivery pressure is greater than the supply pressure. In the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) the following additional forms are described: In the form shown in Fig. 6 (Cancelled), the lubricant in the chamber 3 passes through a clearance 10 between the chamber 2 and the piston 5 during the return strode of the latter, and during the forward stroll it is delivered past a valve 15 to the pipe 14. In another form, a leak port is arranged in the larger portion of a differential piston for the passage of the lubricant from the chamber 3 to the chamber 2. In another form, a spring-pressed valve is arranged in the piston 5 which carries a tubular piston of smaller area. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
