315,057. Thompson, C. H., and Mc- Givern, W. J. May 23, 1928. Emulsions, making.-An emulsion of a mixture of bitumen and stearine pitch is prepared by mixing these ingredients in molten condition and in the proportion of 30:20, and vigorously stirring into the mixture a solution of ¢ part of caustic soda or potash in 15 parts of water. Ground limestone, china clay or other colloidal earths may be added during or after the preparation of the emulsion.
