Abstract

Distempers and water paints.-A cold glaze for application to concrete &c. is made by mixing about equal parts by weight of a soluble soap and calcium chloride to form a paste. This paste is mixed with 10 to 15 parts its weight of water and the whole thus formed is mixed with double its weight of cement. A finely divided powder such as kaolin or kieselguhr may be included in the paste and colouring matter may be mixed with the cement. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes also a cold glaze comprising a mixture of cement, water and an insoluble soap, with or without a salt, preferably in amounts of not more than 4 per cent of the cement, for accelerating setting, a finely divided powder such as kaolin or kieselguhr and pigments. The insoluble soap may be incorporated as such in the mixture. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
