Abstract
314,669. Superheater Co., Ltd., (Schmidt'sche Heissdampf-Ges.). June 25, 1928. Smoke-tube superheaters. -Superheaters of the type in which a separate group of elements lies in a single fire-tube row and the groups are connected to step-wise headers which are parallel with the smoke-box tube plate and transverse to the planes in which the fire tube rows lie, consist of a number of independent groups of elements for each fire-tube row, so formed that the bent inlet and outlet portions lie in the same plane. In the form shown, two groups I, II, are provided and the saturated steam and superheated steam headers 13, 14 are each provided with two stepped jointing walls 13<a>, 13<b> and 14<a>, 14<b> for the tube elements. The tube ends for each jointing wall may be welded into a single tube for welding to the jointing member. The headers may be joined together in places by webs which may also be provided internally. Straps 12<b> may secure together the elements of a. group. In a modification, the saturated steam header lies in the angle of the superheated steam header which has a chamber provided with a number of throttle valves for regulating the outflow of superheated steam.
