233,413. Marine & Locomotive Superheaters, Ltd., and Stenning, H. A. Feb. 6, 1924. Smoke - tube superheaters. - A steam superheater for locomotive &c. boilers comprises in combination a header or headers 8, 9 arranged vertically in the smoke-box. U- loop superheating elements which extend into smoke-tubes having a diameter approximating to that of the usual small smoke-tubes of locomotive boilers, and fastening bolts 19 passing through the header or headers and through bridge-bars 17 which are held against flanges or collars on the element ends at both sides of the headers. Collars 24 on the bolts prevent them from passing through the holes in the bridge-bars or the bolts may be of square section between their threaded ends.
