Induction, preventing and minimizing-Interference with a telephone cable b by a power cable a is prevented by means of transformers c with ring-shaped cores surrounding the cable, the primary windings being constituted by the conductors of the cable and the secondaries being connected through inductances &c. d either, as shown in Fig. 2, to the sheath of the telephone cable, which is divided into a number of insulated sections grounded mid way between two transformers, or, as shown in Fig. 6, to the primaries of transformers e the secondaries of which are formed by the telephone conductors.
