Abstract
499,396. Cables. ALLGEMEINE ELEKTRICITATS-GES. April 21, 1937, No. 11465. Convention date, April 21, 1936. [Class 36] A cable for use in a high frequency carrier current communication system comprises a plurality of non-coaxial groups a of symmetrically stranded conductors, e.g. pairs or quads, each group being in itself unscreened and surrounded by a padding of insulating material so as to increase the distance between the groups and thereby reduce the loss caused by the signalling currents in one group of conductors inducing eddy currents in the conductors of an adjacent group or groups. In the construction shown the insulating padding surrounding each group consists of a wound paper cord b and a paper band or ribbon c applied in the manner of air-space insulation. A copper band winding e and a lead sheath d complete the cable. Specifications 312,272, [Class 36], and 411,901 are referred to.
