Abstract

313,612. Soc. d'Etudes Scientifiques et d'Entreprises Industrielles, (Assignees of Voituron, E.). June 15, 1928, [Convention date]. Manures.-In phosphatic manures produced by decomposing phosphates with nitric acid or oxides of nitrogen, free acid is neutralized by the addition of a silicate or mixture of silicates of alkali or alkaline earth metals or of substances containing same, e.g. metallurgical slags. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) also describes the neutralization of the free acid by a neutral or alkaline salt of an alkali or alkaline earth metal or a mixture of such salts, suitable salts are said to be the carbonates, bicarbonates, phosphates and sulphates and substances containing these salts, e.g. gypsum. limestone phosphatic chalk or poor phosphate. It is also stated that free acid in ordinary superphosphate or in other phoophatic manures may be neutralized in this way. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
