Abstract
302,148. Chemieverfahren Ges. Dec. 10, 1927, [Convention date]. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Manures.-A fertilizer consisting of potassium nitrate and ammonium phosphate is prepared by treating crude phosphate with potassium sulphate and nitric acid in amounts sufficient to form calcium sulphate, potassium nitrate and free phosphoric acid. Calcium sulphate is separated by filtration, and the filtrate is neutralized with ammonia and evaporated to dryness. The proportions of the ingredients in the fertilizer are varied by treating crude phosphate containing calcium carbonate or by adding lime, limestone or chalk to the crude phosphate.
